Strasbourg: Old Town Uncovered through Stories – A Fun and Easy Premium Walking Tour with Yann, your Officially Licensed Local Guide. Tasting Included. Dogs Welcome!

Ready for a unique immersion? Let your officially licensed and passionate tour guide, Yann, lead you on a 2.5-hour exploration through Strasbourg’s UNESCO-listed alleys.

Forget the classic tours. This small group tour (up to 8 participants) is designed to be a friendly and intimate experience, far from the hustle of mass tourism. A small tasting is scheduled at the end of the tour to conclude this moment of exchange. Every street corner will reveal a surprising story, a well-kept secret, or a little-known historical fact.

As soon as we meet (spot my yellow and black cap or my yellow beanie, depending on the weather) next to the bronze 3D model of Strasbourg’s Notre-Dame Cathedral on Place du Château, you’ll dive into a vivid narrative where historical facts and compelling tales mingle.

Discover why Strasbourg’s ancient name, Argentoratum, is so evocative, and how someone born in 1870 could have changed nationalities four times without ever leaving the city!

Here's What your Lively Discovery Includes:

Strasbourg Cathedral: More than a Monument

Explore this Gothic masterpiece via its majestic façade and fascinating anecdotes. What surprising correspondence exists between the height of its spire and the altitude of the square? Did you know it was the tallest monument in Christendom for centuries? I will reveal the secrets of its builders, its symbols, an unexpected relic of its past, and the amusing story of the "Belly Measurer".

Historic Streets: From Gutenberg to the Reformation

Stroll toward the Maison Kammerzell and Place Gutenberg ( Gutenberg Square ). I'll reveal why Strasbourg is a global birthplace of printing and how it saw the dawn of pioneering publications that changed Europe (the first book printed in German, the first newspaper). Contemplate Saint Thomas Church to understand the unique role of Protestantism in Alsace.

Petite France: Its Charm... and its Surprising Secrets

Welcome to Strasbourg’s most picturesque district. Beyond the postcards, I'll tell you the juicy and unexpected anecdote behind the name "Petite France"—a health-related story that will leave you speechless. Observe a specific architectural feature of the half-timbered houses; I'll explain the clever reason behind this design trick. We'll explore Ponts Couverts ( Covered Bridges ) and Barrage Vauban ( Vauban Dam ), remnants of defensive ingenuity.

Grand'Rue and Beyond: From the National Anthem to Medieval Mysteries

Our exploration continues along Grand'Rue. Guess which famous national anthem was born and first sung right here in Strasbourg. Then, shiver for a moment at Ancienne Douane ( Old Customs House ) and Pont du Corbeau ( Raven Bridge ), once the "Bridge of Torments". Be ready to hear both amusing and chilling accounts of the medieval customs that took place there. Just before reaching the Cathedral by taking Rue du Maroquin ( Leather Goods Street ), a small tasting of Alsatian wines, cheeses, and cured sausage (saucisson) is offered to you at a must-visit address highly appreciated by locals: the fine food store "Mon Oncle Malker de Munster".

A Personalized Closing

We will conclude our journey at the foot of the Cathedral. I will be available for your questions and my best personalized recommendations for your stay. With me, Strasbourg becomes a story you experience and remember.
